WAIKATO FOOTBALL ACADEMY STATEMENT

Waikato Football Academy will operate as a division of Wanderers Football Club and will be based out of Porritt Stadium in Hamilton.  Waikato Football Academy’s aim is to personally develop each young player, boy or girl, with the right techniques, skills and game understanding necessary to play at their highest level possible if desired, and to support each player in achieving his or her dreams whether playing at local club level, school level or playing football overseas.

Waikato Football Academy is looking to provide a genuine pathway for young players from 5 to 17 years of age and develop the technical skills and abilities needed to play at the highest level.  Waikato Football Academy offers opportunities for youth players to play in the elite Auckland Metro League along with overseas trial opportunities with such links as West Bromich Albion and Manchester City, along with Australian clubs.

Waikato Football Academy coaching staff carry or are working towards New Zealand or overseas coaching qualifications.  All Academy coaching staff are experienced with 1 to 1 and team coaching.

As Head Coach, Mark will personally oversee all Academy coaching staff.

The Waikato Football Academy coaching program is designed to give each and every player that something extra regardless of their current football ability.

Waikato Football Academy has a range of academy training and playing squads:

5-7 years (Junior Squad)

     Mondays 4.30-5.30pm

8-10 years

     Mondays 4.30-6.00pm

11-13 years (Intermediate Squad)

     Mondays 4.30-6.00pm

14-18 years (Youth Squad)

     Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.00-7.30pm
