ITF TAEKWON-DO
The Vertical Taekwon-Do Glen Innes club is affiliated to the National Governing Body,
United International Taekwon-Do of New Zealand Incorporated.
ITF Taekwon-Do was created by the late General Choi Hong Hi, in 1955.
Taekwon-Do is a form of unarmed self defence and known as the art of hand and foot fighting.
"Tae" means flying, to kick or smash with the foot.
"Kwon" denotes the fist, to punch.
"Do" means art or way.
Taekwon-Do is a way of life.
There are over 50 million ITF Taekwon-Do practitioners worldwide and practiced in over 100
countries.
